Writing in 2026

Blogs, LinkedIn posts, content creation: writing with purpose (just like this) in the age of AI.

Genuine human writing is visibly vanishing as AI suggestions are everywhere we look. Even the word “genuine” at the start smells like AI accent (LLM chatbots love that word). We have predictive text on our phones, AI suggestions from Gmail, and AI email and messaging assistants are all over the place. It’s hardly surprising people say literacy is waning for Generations Z and Alpha.

Yet here I am writing on a blog for this personal site in big 2026. I recently departed a Software Developer position at a large airline and am focused on building myself up for new opportunities, so why blog? Why write?

Effective Human Writing

Content creation is massive right now, and writing is still one form of creation. Here are 3 core benefits of writing:

  • Grow visibility and searchability for like-minded people
  • Create a trail that naturally demonstrates personal growth over time
  • Record your best ideas to build an extensive profile that shows more than a resume or LinkedIn profile can

Building the practice of writing trains the muscle of communication. When you choose to write, you build more than a brand — you build your personal history.

Developing Your Brand

You don’t need the most developed, expert, conclusive ideas. You need a trail that demonstrates your thoughts and abilities, and it will be clearly visible over time how you are growing and developing yourself overall.

Your brand becomes a natural inherent part of your writing as your voice and perspective shape into something more unique. With anything — software projects, artistic creations, media content — the more you create, the more unique your overall profile becomes. Nobody will have quite the blend you have in the long run, and that’s how you build your brand naturally.
